Important Information About Recent Service Line Letters

KGID recently sent an EPA-required notice to some customers regarding unknown water service line materials. This notice does not mean lead was found in your water or service line. It simply reflects an EPA nationwide requirement for water systems to formally document service line materials when historical records are incomplete.

At this time, KGID has no confirmed lead service lines, and our drinking water continues to meet all state and federal water quality standards.

KGID is actively working to verify service line materials and reduce “unknown” classifications. As part of this effort, the District plans to follow a verification approach , which will allow us to document materials and eliminate the need for future annual notices.
