Kingsbury General Improvement District, a water and wastewater utility in the Lake Tahoe Basin, is seeking a dynamic Street Maintenance Specialist.

Under the general direction of the Operation Superintendent, the Street Maintenance Specialist will have experience in pavement management and maintenance; maintaining drainage systems; and snow removal operations.  This position requires operating various heavy equipment including a Vactor Truck, Loader, Backhoe, Dump Truck ad Street Sweeper.  A class A or B commercial driver’s license with a good driving record are required.

Wage rates are $21.36 to $26.69 DOQ/experience and is augmented by an excellent benefits package. The Street Maintenance Specialist position is covered by the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between KGID and the International union of Operating Engineers, Local 39, AFL-CIO.

General Manager

Kingsbury General Improvement District, a water and wastewater utility in the Lake Tahoe Basin, is seeking a dynamic and innovative leader as it conducts a national search for a General Manager. The ideal person will be well-rounded in all aspects of public works.

Under the general direction of the Board of Trustees, the General Manager is responsible general administration, management, supervision, capital planning, budgeting, report preparation, and oversight of scheduling for the street and stormwater maintenance, water and wastewater utility operations, and fleet functions.

Annual salary is $125,500 to $160,000 DOQ/experience and is augmented by an excellent benefits package.

Experience and Education

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a business-related or engineering field or five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in an administrative, managerial, or staff capacity in public or private employment involving responsibility for the planning, organization, implementation, and supervision of varied work programs.
  • Ability to direct and coordinate staff activities in a unionized environment.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a D-3 water distribution certificate and a T-3 water treatment certificate in the state of Nevada within 18 months; and
  • Excellent written and verbal leadership skills; experience in government relations and environmental protection.
